Norges spillestil har inspireret forfatteren til endnu en klumme

Sidste weekends landskamp mod Norge bød egentlig ikke på de helt store kontroversielle situationer, som kunne bringe dommeren i fokus. Alligevel har ugen budt på lidt ting på lovsiden: Morten Olsen ser angiveligt gerne indført en stopursregel, når der skal tages indkast – og offside-reglen skal ændres ved samme indkast, så man skal kunne være offside, når bolden kommer til én direkte fra et (eget) indkast.

Det virker på mig, som om det er to ting, der ikke umiddelbart har ret meget med hinanden at gøre. Men lad os tage dem én ad gangen. De lange indkast, som det handler om, tager angiveligt meget tid, fordi man skal have hentet specialisterne over for at tage dem. Det er der sådan set ikke noget underligt i – og det har ikke noget specielt med indkast at gøre. Frisparkskombinationer har også – og måske i endnu højere grad –  deres specialister, og de står heller ikke lige altid lige ved siden af bolden, når forseelsen bliver begået. Så hvorfor skal vi ikke have noget stopur dér ?

Det er vigtigt at holde fast i, at fodboldloven slet ikke opererer med stopursregler.  Jo, der er fastsat en grænse på nominelt 6 sekunder for, hvor længe målmanden må have kontrol over bolden med hænderne, inden han skiller sig af med den. Men det er stadig undergivet ‘dommerens skøn’. Skulle der gå 6,3 eller endda 7 sekunder, er jeg helt sikker på, at alle lever lykkeligt med det. Det er det bagvedliggende princip, der er afgørende: vi skal have bolden hurtigt i spil igen, for det er det, som folk er kommet for at se på. Og 6 sekunder er nu faktisk rigtig lang tid, hvis man prøver at checke.

Næste trin er, at fodboldloven ikke opererer med ‘effektiv spilletid’. Når bolden går ud af spil, tager tingene den tid, som de tager. Dommeren har alle de sanktioner, som han kan ønske sig: han skal lægge tid til, hvis der går tid tabt – han skal endda uddele advarsler for det, hvis et hold bevidst forhaler en igangsættelse. Men der er altså en naturlig pause til at få sat bolden i spil igen, og det er også vigtigt at huske på, at fodboldloven på ingen måde foreskriver, at man nødvendigvis skal blive hurtigere, fordi man er kommet foran. Dette er en meget følsom balance, og dommeren har alle de lovmidler til rådighed, som han kan ønske sig.  Undertiden benytter han sig  – indrømmet ! – desværre ikke af det – og det er en helt anden historie. Men reglerne er egentlig gode nok.    

Så blev offside-reglen pludselig bragt i spil omkring indkast, og det forstår jeg helt ærligt ikke en lyd af. Efter min erfaring er det uhyre sjældent, at bolden fra et langt indkast lander hos en spiller, som ville have været i offside-position, hvis det nu ikke lige havde været et indkast. Typisk er det jo situationer med hulens masse spillere inde i feltet. Snarere opstår situationerne ved et hurtigt indkast, som lander hos en medspiller, der har taget overlappet og nu teknisk set ville være i offside-position, hvis det ikke lige var,  fordi man ikke kan være det direkte på indkast. Der er tre undtagelser i offside-reglen, hvor man kan være nærmere modspillernes mållinje end bolden og næstsidste modspiller, når bolden spilles af en medspiller  (erstat for min skyld gerne ‘nærmere etc.’ med ‘foran’) og alligevel umuligt være offside – nemlig hvis bolden kommer direkte fra indkast, målspark eller hjørnespark.   

Hvis man nu skulle til at indføre en begrænsning her, så man godt kunne blive offside direkte på et indkast – hvad så med målspark, eller hjørnespark ?  Lige netop målspark er et af de steder, hvor de kloge stadig kan narre de mindre kloge. En målmand, som kender offside-reglen, og en angriber, som er løbet langt før tid, kan få meget ud af sådan en situation – og så skal vi selvfølgelig også have med, at der er en afgrund til forskel på et målspark og et udspark. Hvis målmanden står med bolden i hænderne og sparker den ud, klapper fælden for angriberen i offside-positioen.

Langt hen ad vejen er problemet nok, at offside-reglen de første langt over 100 år favoriserede forsvarerne – nu er det pludselig angriberne, der bevisligt skal foretage sig noget ulovligt, før der straffes.  Heraf linjedommernes berømte / berygtede ‘Vent og se’-instruks – på tilskuerpladserne ofte oversat til ‘Hvorfor h….. står han og sover / hvorfor er han så langsom’ osv osv.   Men linjedommeren er i sagens natur nødt til at vente på, at der efter hans opfattelse er en forseelse, før han flager. Det har jeg oplevet mange trænere – og også tidligere topspillere / kommentatorer – melde helt pas på. Det gælder også UEFAs trænerforum, som jo tidligere har harcelleret voldsomt mod den nye måde at anskue offside.  Ikke underligt, for offside-reglen er den eneste paragraf i fodboldloven, som handler om taktik. Så her kommer både følelser og holdninger i kog.  

Men det er jo i den sidste ende mål, som vi gerne som tilskuere vil se, og derfor er det også den vej, det kører. Alle regelændringer de seneste år har haft til formål at komme hurtigt i gang og få lavet nogle angreb og underholdning.

Så mens man i denne branche ikke skal forsværge noget som helst – det har erfaringen efterhånden lært mig – så kan Morten Olsen godt have et fromt ønske om at få indført offside direkte efter indkast. Men jeg spurter nu ikke hen til den nærmeste bookmaker for at sætte pengene på det…
